Default Help! Corvette C6 2008 A6 shifter problems.

Hello guys, I've been driving a C6 LS3 automatic 6hp since 2020 with 33,000 kilometers (20,500 miles).
Despite the low mileage, last Sunday the shifter got stuck in "P", probably due to the chronic problem of play in the C6 shifter cable. But I was literally in the middle of the street, so I ended up forcing the shifter to try to get out of "P" and I think I broke something.
It shifted to "D" but now I can only use "N" and "D", and the **** button doesn't work anymore... Can anyone help me with this, who has experienced the same issue? Can I fix this? If I can't fix it, do I need to replace the entire shifter? Let me explain, I'm Brazilian and live in Brazil, which is an extremely bureaucratic and complicated country to live in, so I need to import. Besides the expensive shipping costs, I have to pay 100% tax on both the product and the freight. So if I spend $100 on the part and $50 on shipping, I need to pay $150 in taxes. Moreover, our currency is heavily devalued, making everything expensive. It would be easier for me to know what broke before taking it to the workshop to disassemble, so I could import the shifter cable along with it. Not only would I have to pay a very high price, but also the government needs to clear the package, which takes on average 1 month. I appreciate any help my friends.

I suspect none can say for sure what might have broken. I am given to understand that the shifter is not available from GM any longer.
Also while I have not tried this, you should have put the car into ACC mode. You then could have shifted to neutral, started the engine and shifted to drive and been on your way.

I would guess that you or another there, will have to discover the problem. Then you can import parts, best of luck!!

Chances are you did not break anything. The same thing happened on my 2006. It just so happened that you managed to shift out of Park, but the lock out pawl did not disengage fully. You need to remove the radio surround console, then pull the boot and get at the lock out pawl to release it. The issue with getting locked in Park, is the limit switch in front of the shifter lever is failing. Most of us with this issue, have just tied back the lock out pawl so it can never happen again.
Check out the PDF for an easy zero cost fix.

On mine I replaced the micro switch.
Sometime push the shift forward then hit hit the brake you can hear the solenoid release the shifter.
