Have decided to go with extremes or keep npp. have catted long tubes and a cam. Does anyone have this setup now? Or ran both? How much louder are the extremes compared to npp at idle and 1-2000rpm? I just don’t feel like my current setup is that loud
I can’t imagine Corsa’s being louder than open NPP’s. Isn’t the butterflied part just a straight through tube essentially bypassing any of the baffling inside the muffler making it straight open?
I have (what I think is) Corsa Sports and have a high flow catted long tube setup.
Not sure if this video helps at all for sound levels, but fast forward closer to the end where I do some sound clips (unless you want to watch the whole video) and see if there is any value in the sound clips.

I’m running LTH, cam and Corsa extreme. I ditched my npp because of drone when open. Now I have no drone whatsoever and it sounds much better, the setup I have at present is much louder then the npp’s were. You won’t be disappointed.

The NPP opened is 1000% not circulated though the muffler as some of you are assuming, it definitely is essentially a straight pipe. Closed is the only time it is circulated in basically a square....this is why the horsepower gain claim is there for the 6hp they rated

then what’s the point of doing the muffler mod? The “straight pipe” is perforated
I have Kooks long tubes, hi flow cats and Corsa Xtremes 2012 Grand Sport M6. Car had the NPPs when i bought and they sounded good (permanently open valves.)
The Corsa Xtereme are louder and sound better than the NPPs IMO.

My man...Corsa is louder at all rpm's on the outside than the oem npp. Corsa is literally a straight pipe with a tiny hole into mufflers to control the drone in cabin. The npp has curved sections that reduce overall output. Stainless construction is also different, which influences overall sound output. Several people above have confirmed it. As an owner of many exhaust systems I can also confirm that it'll be louder on the outside, and quieter on the inside vs the oem system in loud mode. Let me set you up with a great deal on Corsa. The straight pipe on the later years was not perforated.
Here's a post explaining a little more along with the easy way to tell if you have the louder mufflers. Click the link to view the pics.
ZR1 mufflers and 2011+ Z06 mufflers have the loud section (inside the muffler) as a straight pipe. The older Z06 mufflers have a perforated pipe on the loud section. The ZR1/ 2011+ Z06 mufflers have the quiet side perforated so it’s quieter than the old muffler (in the quiet mode). You can easily identify the ZR1 muffler by the perforated tips.ZR1/2011+ Older Z06
