Can the targa top's plastic frame be removed and the top remains functional without leaking? I need a tinge more headroom with a helmet and thought I'd ask before attempting it.
I'm in the same boat! I have the solid top on and might remove the liner. I've gotten the seat bracket down onto the carpet and fitting is okay though even a quarter inch more would make a nice difference. I'm thinking of cutting slots in the carpet to get the seat bracket even lower. GL!
I pulled the liner back, its very thin... my helmet can touch it sometimes hindering movement. Without it may slide easier, less hinderance. If I can remove the targa plastic frame it will give more room to the side and back... would like to know if its functional beyond cosmetic.
I cut the carpet out under the seat since my sub-belt mounts are behind the seat and want them to move freely... otherwise cutting slots are fine. Next step is to cut into the floor but its not so easy with my setup, would have to change quite a few things.

The frame you see on the inside _is_ the roof's cast aluminum (or magnesium) structural frame, painted black. There is no plastic trim.
