I have a 2005 C6 that won't start. It starts the start sequence normally but when I push the start button the screen goes blank. Any help would be appreciated because I just bought the car in january this year.
The FIRST thing you want to check for any starting issue is the battery…I’d take it out and have it load tested at your friendly auto parts store…is this something you are going to diagnose yourself ???

Tried to send you a PM, but you apparently have the PM block on. If you're interested, I have for sale the 2-volume factory service manual. Everything you need to know on the care, maintenance & repair of the '05.
Both volumes in perfect condition...no rips, tears or missing pages. Asking $240 or make offer. Check out my posting in the C6 Parts for Sale section... https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...highlight=2005
Yes I'm going to diagnose it myself. I'm 82 yrs old but I feel good and have lots of experience with corvettes in the past.
I’d start with your battery and go from there…you may have to get underneath the car also and do some checks…do you have at least a DVOM and a 12 volt test light and know how to use them ??…unfortunately issues like this aren’t something simple like a blown fuse that is easily replaceable.
The C6 like there C5 forefathers, do not like it when the Battery Voltage is not in the range they prefer and will do all sorts of weird stuff when that happens,

I believe that. Makes me long for my 64&82 vettes.
Definitely start with checking battery but as an anecdote, I have this happen in the past with a mustang.
identical - I had a corroded ground cable off of the battery that just could no longer supply enough juice to run the starter so it all went dark when I tried.
loose battery terminals or cable connections (at the starter or grounds) could also cause it.
I would do a quick cursory look at a few things and then have the battery tested.
A quick test to see if is a bad block ground is if you have a 12 volt test connect it to battery negative and probe a clean spot on the engine block…test light should NOT light when attempting to crank…if it does and you have a pair of heavy duty jumper cables connect one to battery negative and other to a clean spot on engine block..see if the car starts…to check positive side of charging system connect one lead of voltmeter on battery positive post and other lead on the starter solenoid STUD where positive battery cable attaches to…attempt to start the car…you should see less than 0.5 volts on voltmeter.
A quick check of starter function is remove relay 43…crank relay…jump the 2 load side terminals 30 and 87 (both terminals illustrated below)…if starter if good the engine will just CRANK !!
When test light connected to ground the test light should illuminate when probing this terminal (control side feed ) if clutch switch or Park/Neutral is good…terminal is rear closest to fender.
