Default Ls3 head/Intake on ls2 block

Hey so I've seen alot of posts on these combo and I've read so much I think I've confused myself. Half of the issue is getting some of the parts online ordered to california =/ most of the combos I'm seeing I can't get the parts ordered here due to emissions, the other half is budget i would love a 10k engine build but my budget ismt 10k lol. After alot of searching I think I've found a combo that I'm able to actually get here in so cal I just don't have enough knowledge know the set up will work I'm just looking for some guidance here I know I need the intake manifold as well I've found those both I know my came choice is limited with it due to clearance I just want to make sure the cam will fit and the set up isn't gonna make me lost power lol.

I thought all headers were off-road use only because they relocate the cats.

Being in California they may be a problem. Will need to figure out what will pass the emissions testing.

I'd suggest talking with someone like these guys

They'll know what is acceptable in California.

yeah so far the exhaust and headers I wanna use won't pass smog. I have a friend thay owns a star smog shop and he'll save my stock smog on file in case I need to pay a little extra to pass with the headers on haha. It's more so getting the parts to California is my issue

Pretty much anything you have in that list wont pass smog, not just the headers. When I was living there, I got my K&N "CAI" before they got more strict. The place I bought it from sent me the non CARB version but slipped me a CARB sticker in the box. If you can pass smog with your friend, then try to get whatever he is willing to get away with. Not sure about tuning shops there, but once you swap the cam, heads, headers, etc., you will want a tune. I know that companies arent sending tuners to CA any more, not sure if you can find a tuner to do the work for you. Without a tune, digging into the engine that much will make it run like ****. Best bet, contact A&A and get a CA legal blower and call it a day.

It's not my only vechile and the smog shop I use will make sure I pass no matter what I have done. I just wanted confirmation the parts listed would work. As for tuning I already have a tuner willing to work with me in California. I don't want a blower I'd rather have a na build.

Not sure I'd publically state this on the interweb...

There are always shops that will do things not the way they're required to do.

Anything like this in Kalifornia requires a tune, which is illegal. Aside from that, any headers that eliminate or move the ORIGINAL converters are illegal. If you want more power and want to avoid your car being impounded (which yes they CAN do in Kalifornia and potentially crush it as well, plus fine you!) call a place like A&A and see about a CARB legal blower with a CARB legal tune.
