Comparing a C6 LS2 with almost 11:1 compression and a Magnuson Supercharger with a smaller pulley to a stock C6 ZR1.
How dependable would the LS2 be? I like to drive aggressively!!!
Thanks, I already have the LS2 setup as described above and worrying about the additional stress on the engine beyond it's original design. It runs beautifully, just worrying.
High compression, PD blower, and E85 are a heavenly match. E85 isn't totally necessary, but damn, it's all manner of goodness with a PD blower. You'll probably need to upgrade your fuel system anyway. Doesn't cost much more to go flex fuel. Set up properly, your tune will adjust whether you're running straight dino fuel, E85, or anything in between. With a mild blower cam and bolt ons, you'll leave quite a few ZR1's looking at your tail lights. All of the stock ones for sure.
Anything is reliable if it's tuned for the correct gas. You can also throw some LS9 head gaskets on there to lower the compression slightly. But with that compression, Id definitely tune it before I run it.

As has been said, a proper tune and it will run fine. That being said, if you wanted it to be closer to the compression of the LS9 in the ZR1, you could lower the compression with some LS9 head gaskets. Wouldn't lower it much, would be about 10.8. But Cometic makes a bunch of different thicknesses of head gaskets. A 0.098 thick head gasket would get you to about 9.75 CR and a 0.120 thickness gasket would get to about 9.3 CR.
Lowering the CR helps especially if you want to run more boost. I think the stock Heartbeat is about 6 psi of boost which is pretty mild and very safe for an LS2 (again with proper tuning). I think the stock LS9 is about 10 or 11 psi of boost so works better with a lower CR.
But the LS2 is a stout engine and will hold up all day long at power levels that the supercharger is going to make.
