HVAC Controller
If yes, then controler could be fine, and problem is cabin air temp sensor is not longer in bezel, but knock loose and in the bowels of the dash instead.
To the left of the ignition switch a few inches, there are some vents in the bezel. Take a light and shine is in to slots, and look for a blue bulb that you can see just behind the slots.

If you do not see the blue bulb, then will need to pull the benzel, pull the cabin temp switch back out of the bowels of the dash, pop it back onto is bezel cup, and when re-installing the bezel, make sure it does not pop back out of the bezel cup socket when you snap the bottom of bezel in.
Good video on how to pull the bezel,
And to add, if cabin sensor is still in bezel socket, not a bad idea to pull the bezel, so you can pull the senor to clean its fan and bulb if there is a lot of build up. Hence way sensor works, has a fan on the back side to pull air from the cabin to get cabin temp, but fan blades can get filthy, lack of enough air pulled through sensor to keep up with changing temps in the cabin itself.
The fan blades are the open slots just below the bulb end of sensor,

Short of that, them maybe HVAC controller needs to come apart, to check its boards for cold solder joint, or loose cable ribbon to one of the connector. Hence only time you want to think about replacing controller, is when you wear the printing off the buttons, and don't want to play the sticker game to get the labeling back on to the buttons.
I have purchased a 2012 unit as a standby just in case. So far it is only a minor inconvenience but I want to be ready just in case.
