was working on my 2008 z06 and noticed up under the bumper cover on the passenger side a dangling wire with a connector. Upon looking at it closer, it looks to be some sort of sensor?

100% the hood light that your car didnt come equipped with. I have the same plug and cap. GM was nice enough to cap it with it being in an open element area
