Need help with bleeding brakes.
I have a message into my friend at Wilwood to see his thoughts.
A random thought:
Is it possible that a rubber brake hose or hoses are ballooning up under pressure?
48 years, I've never seen it. But I've heard of it happening.
And a test:
Jack up the back (I guess the front would work too!) and start the car.
Come to think of it, the front might even be better. Don't need to have both sides off the ground!
With a long breaker bar and socket on the axle nut, try spinning the wheel.
Gradually apply the brake, and see what the pedal position is when you can't turn it any more.
How far down has the pedal gone?
Keep us posted!

The front hubs don't have the axle shaft down the middle, and therefore no big nut to put the socket on...
Looks like it's the back wheels after all.
D'oh!
Have them both off the ground, or the ltd slip will be dragging too.

So, then I thought to myself, self-let's take it on the street. Backed her out onto the street. Now for context I live on the side of the San Gabriel Mountains, Scene of the 2014 Colby Fires
Colby Fire - Wikipedia My street has a 30% downgrade to the bottom of the street. I slowly went up to the top of the street at the base of the SGV Mountain in 1st gear at about 10 miles an hour until I got to flat level ground and pushed the brake pedal and it stopped. I kept doing this and continued to build confidence up to 30, 40, 50, 60 mph. I went into the SGV Canyon entrance flat out with the Vortech Heritage Series Compressor Screaming and then buried the brake pedal into the floorboard and the bitch Stopped!!!
Thank You for your help. I appreciate it. I feel like this was an act of God. If you wouldn't have mentioned your experience similar to this one, I wouldn't have had the courage to give this a shot. For this again Thank You!
And most of all for reporting back what you found.
Pet peeve... posters report an unusual, mystifying problem. But never come back to tell what fixed it!
Happy I could help.
