Pedal all the way to the floor?!
No, I wouldn't drive that either!

I'm out of DIY ideas, Might be time for the shop.

The pedal does go through the whole sweep of the pedal travel, just doesn't feel positive like it does when the car is off, or how I expect it to feel when driving.

I have a message into my friend at Wilwood to see his thoughts.

OK, after mulling things over...
A random thought:
Is it possible that a rubber brake hose or hoses are ballooning up under pressure?
48 years, I've never seen it. But I've heard of it happening.

And a test:
Jack up the back (I guess the front would work too!) and start the car.
Come to think of it, the front might even be better. Don't need to have both sides off the ground!
With a long breaker bar and socket on the axle nut, try spinning the wheel.
Gradually apply the brake, and see what the pedal position is when you can't turn it any more.
How far down has the pedal gone?
Keep us posted!

Rethinking that test while I'm awake...
The front hubs don't have the axle shaft down the middle, and therefore no big nut to put the socket on...
Looks like it's the back wheels after all.
D'oh!
Have them both off the ground, or the ltd slip will be dragging too.

As part of the Wilwood kit all 4 corners are now steel braided AN3 hose right off the factory hardline. I think I’m going to waive the white flag 🏳️ and admit this beat me. I stopped at the local Chevy dealership and they said they would do it. They have a master mechanic that’s pretty confident he can get it done. Follow up when I get it to the stealership.

My Tech 2 tells me to open bleeder and pump the brake pedal when it starts the ABS motor. 1-fast pump or slow pump to floor? How long pumping required?
Thanks

I ended up bleeding the brakes with a pressure bleeder 2 times. Also bled manually with assistance 2 times following the directions and locations in the GM corvette service manual. Seems to be OK now.

Sorry no progress. I tried to find a mobile mechanic that would come to the house. I thought I found one, but was unreliable and so I’m back to searching. I will post my results once I get this sorted out. My neighbor who is an older hot rodder hires a kid from the local high school to help him with odds and ends chores around the house that he can’t do. He said I could use the kid as an extra set of hands. We’ll see how it goes.

@Nowanker I have a scheduled appointment for a local area shop that does work on Late Model Corvettes. Scheduled to be dropped off on 3/8/25. Looks like I'll need to have it flatbeded there. Thank God for AAA Membership.

@Nowanker Update: 03/2/2025. Had free time today to go in the garage and prep the car to take it to the shop next Saturday. Put the wheels back on it, took it off the jack stands and washed the engine bay and the cars exterior since it had been sitting for 2 months. It definitely needed a bath. Got it all dry and fired her up and let her idle for 10 minutes to dry up all the nooks and crannies the towel wouldn't reach in the engine bay. During those 10 minutes I started thinking (Thats dangerous)

So, I thought, let's give this a try in the driveway. Threw her in reverse and just let her coast out of the garage and onto the driveway under idle. Pressed the brake pedal and she STOPPED! I did this about 4 times back and forth in and out of the garage with success.

So, then I thought to myself, self-let's take it on the street. Backed her out onto the street. Now for context I live on the side of the San Gabriel Mountains, Scene of the 2014 Colby Fires
Colby Fire - Wikipedia My street has a 30% downgrade to the bottom of the street. I slowly went up to the top of the street at the base of the SGV Mountain in 1st gear at about 10 miles an hour until I got to flat level ground and pushed the brake pedal and it stopped. I kept doing this and continued to build confidence up to 30, 40, 50, 60 mph. I went into the SGV Canyon entrance flat out with the Vortech Heritage Series Compressor Screaming and then buried the brake pedal into the floorboard and the bitch Stopped!!!
Thank You for your help. I appreciate it. I feel like this was an act of God. If you wouldn't have mentioned your experience similar to this one, I wouldn't have had the courage to give this a shot. For this again Thank You!

Sooooo glad you were able to get that straightened out!
And most of all for reporting back what you found.
Pet peeve... posters report an unusual, mystifying problem. But never come back to tell what fixed it!
Happy I could help.
