Dashboard clusters paint flaking
I know this issue is mentioned a lot but i have seen no solution yet.
The paint of the ***** of my dic and hud **** clusters on my 2005 are flaking off. Did anyone tried to repair them instead of replacement?

To get to the pods to remove them,
And for replacement pods, $200 will get you both sides new, or half that price for used ones that the paint is not flaking/worn off,

As for repainting, can be done, but would need to first remove the paint on the bottons since its flaking, then laser cut emblems to cover the non painted areas that do allow the light to shine through, so they can be resprayed with paint.
You have to at least undo the cluster so you can get to the 3 screws that hold the pod. Info and pics at the beginning of this DIY:

I understand that buying them new is the best option if they are not that expensive.
But i have seen posts of flaking pods from late model C6's so are the newer pods any better?
If my problem is solved with 200-250$ i would gladly buy new, but are they available and will they not show the same issue in a short time?
