Default AC compressor pulley rubbed through brake line!

About a two years ago I had my ac compressor replaced in the car. Fast forward to today, come to find out the passenger brake line has been barely rubbing on the ac compressor pulley and finally wore through! Thankfully i was literally right around the corner from the shop and was able to drive it there slowly. My question is, when replacing the compressor I’m assuming that line had to be moved by the position it’s in correct? Not disconnected but just the bracket and move line a bit to get the compressor out? Secondly can the broken section be cut and a new section put in with flares and connections? This really put the brakes on a busy week as the car is my dd

The compressor pulley should be a million miles from the brake line. I'm wondering if your engine mounts are shot. Do you have pictures?

I don’t have any pictures at this point. From what i seen the metal line from the abs module to the front passenger caliper runs down there near the compressor. Maybe it popped out of the bracket or something that holds it in place? I did just have a transmission put in and rear main seal so the torque tube had to come out but don’t think any motor mounts were touched. Are they common to go bad? How bad of a job are they to do? Seen you can cut the line and flare it to add a section in where it’s chewed through. The shop said they will figure out what caused the issue and I’m guessing it would be okay to replace the leaking section instead of having to get a whole new line. Only seen used ones for sale so far…

The hard line should run pretty close to the subframe, with plenty of distance to the compressor. I would replace the whole thing. It's not very long. You could fit a used one, or make one from scratch using special copper-nickel brake line tubing.

Yes I seen where it runs along the subframe, where the bend is in the line to run towards the caliper area is where it gets close to the ac compressor pulley. Maybe the line wasn’t routed correctly? Hopefully tomorrow the shop can get to it. Thanks

Here’s a pic of the line circled in blue and where it rubbed circled in red. Note this pic is not of my car, just to show the area. It was actually barely touching the pulley all the time slowly wearing into the line, not when just reving the car etc. Could that have happened during the ac compressor install and finally wore through?
