Default Texas Speed headers redesigned

It looks like Texas Speed redesigned their headers. Does anyone have any experience with them?

Still a slip fit between X pipe and headers, which means a PITA to get the C pipe off if you need to get into the torque tunnel,
and have to remove the mufflers first, then you can slip the X pipe back to get it off the headers.

Also, not sure that they are really long tube headers, but more of shorty headers with the placement of the collector in the first place on the shorter tubes off the heads. Hence with long tube headers, you pick up about 25hp with the scavenging, while only around 15hp with the shorty headers isntead.

Should be better. O2 placement is much better and hopefully ground clearance is improved. The old headers made good power but o2 placement sucked and one of the primaries on both side hung down too low. They made more power in the mid range than ARH in the same size and only ~10whp less at the peak.

As stated, the 10hp less at peak that your coming up with sounds about right for what could thought of them as shorty headers, due to the shorter runners of the tubes before collector, that will hamper the Bernoulli effect of pulling more exhaust out of the heads that the longer runner tubes will at higher rpms..

As for pulling more at mid range, or even coming on-line faster in lower in the rpms maybe with shorter tubes and collector closer to heads, but that could also be done on long tube headers with stinger/bullet at the collector section for the tubes and 1-3/4 runner tubes as well.

Simply, if all your picking up with the headers and X pipe is 15hp, then just buy a used Zo6 oem manifolds (which are shorty headers),z06 oem high flow cats and Z06 oem X pipe, for around $600 used, to get the same power instead.

I totally agree with the better O2 sensor placement and ground clearance than before. I am just curious if anyone has had FIRST HAND experience with the performance/ fit compared to the older design.
