Default LS3 dry sump overfill

Got oil changed a few days ago local dealership. Before you say it.....I go to dealer because it's a dry sump and there's not anyone here i trust to change and this dealership is ok on prices for such.

Anyway, it appears to be overfilled by a good half quart. Oil pressures higher than before change but not too high. After driving 20 min, waiting 10 min on level ground, a solid half quart over. If checking by running in garage to just get to 175 degrees (coolant temp), 10 minutes is about 1/4 quart.

Question: is this enough with a dry sump to cause issues? Calling dealer Monday a.m. anyway but curious how serious this is or is not.

I thought about reducing myself but don't want to touch it since it's their mistake.

I don't think half a quart is hurting anything and I doubt it's effecting your oil pressure. But personally I'd drain it down myself, but I also wouldn't pay a stealership for an oil change

Not super serious. Would likely just get more oil going through the PCV system.

Easiest thing to do is to use a transfer pump and pump the extra oil out of the tank. Having the tank makes this any easy task and I have done this when I overfilled my GS’s oil system one time.

Can get a transfer pump at any Harbor Freight.

And I don’t trust ANY dealership to do anything right.

I changed the oil in my dry sump GS this weekend which included pulling the lines out of the dry sump oil pan to drain them. Taking my time, it took maybe and hour. And I know it was done correctly.

I suggest getting one of these. They are inexpensive and come in very handy for removing or adding various fluids.

I don't think you would need to worry about 1/4 qt but I would still probably drain or siphon some out. What does the dealership charge for this job? I've been paying around $225-$250 to have a shop do mine.

I paid just over 200, all fees, etc. With Mobil 1. They are very competitive on routine maintenance stuff.

Should be alright. I was once overfilled by more and it still didn't get sucked into the intake.

Jesus. $200+ and still done wrong?
12 qts of Mobil 1 is $65 or so and add another $10 for a filter and know its done right.

Either way, it’s probably fine, but I’d siphon it out and do myself forward
