Default P0101 code, no driveability issues

Hey guys, had the check engine light come on a couple days ago. Car was running and driving fine, just the cel came on within 20 miles of filling the gas tank after 3 start ups and shut down cycles. I pulled the code, P0101. I cleaned the MAF sensor with the correct cleaner and checked that the gas cap was tight. The gas cap clicks, not sure how to tell if it's still good or not. Cleared the code..... All was good ....

Until today, about 75 miles later the light came back on with the same code.

The car does have a Halltech cai installed.

I check the duct work leading up to the throttle body and all seems good. Should I order a new sensor or......? Thank you

When was this Halltech installed ??…unfortunately we can’t diagnose it for you but you can read the “diagnostic aids”…I’d look at the IAT and ECT for being skewed…if you have a decent scan tool look at these data PIDS in generic OBD2…it’s the little check engine light on your scan tool…no need to enter the car model year, etc…

If this wiring looks foreign to you probably best to seek out a diagnostic shop !!

The Halltech was in the car when I bought it about 750 miles ago. No light until Sunday. And yes those diagrams are like Chinese to me 😂

Before I do that should I just buy the new sensor and eliminate that aspect? New gas cap? Weird timing with the gas fill up.

The gas cap is part of the EVAP system and is not responsible for that trouble code. I’d spend the money for one hour of diagnostic time instead of throwing parts at it !!…it could be a bad IAT or ECT sensor.

Ok.... before I spend a dime I think when the intake duct work is off the car next week for the balancer job I'll give the filter a good cleaning/very light oiling. Clean the throttle body and clean the MAF again. All free and easy.
