Default Harmonic Balancer replacement

Is the replacement of choice still the ATI? The only thing that concerns me is according to the FAQ's on their website it says they need to be removed and sent in to rebuilt every few years

Depends what the end goal is. Most use ATI or Powerbond. Cost is a factor as well. As for the ATI being rebuilt, they do require it if it's under high load ie power adder. I think for daily or infrequent driving, you may need it rebuilt but at a longer interval. No actual experience with ATI as I used a PB.

Technically all HB's should be replaced every 10 years. ATI can be easily removed and rebuilt where others can't. Though in a street application it's probably fine not having it rebuilt every 10 years.

I have. It's been on since 2017. Caveat is that it's not a daily any longer. I've put 5-6k miles on it since replacement

How are they easier to remove and repair than any others? you still have to drop the steering rack etc to get it off

ATI unbolts from the pressed on hub portion. Not sure since I don't own a C6 anymore but I think you cant take that part off without dropping anything. Again you press on the hub then bolt the balancer to that. Most are all one piece.

If you don't care about performance upgrading then a cheap powerbond is fine. I chose ATI on my build, not worried about a "rebuild". My toy car will never be used enough to need a rebuild as most of these corvettes on this site.
