No crank, no start.

Do you hear the starter solenoid click or no ??…could be high resistance in the starting circuit…do you have a test light and a DVOM ??…don’t know if you are going to try to diagnose this yourself or not.

This is my dad’s car. He said he doesn’t hear the solenoid click. Please explain the high resistance. He has a test light and volt meter.

Best to Google about the resistance…have him connect his test light to battery negative and and probe the engine block with the test light while attempting to start the car…if the test light illuminates you have a bad block ground…may be best to take the car to an auto electrical specialist instead of throwing more parts at it…how do you know the battery is good…was it load tested ??

This may not be any help. This past Saturday I was troubleshooting my cousin's C6, it wouldn't' start after he backed into a trailer in his garage. Long story short the shift cable bushing decided to give up at that exact moment and the car was still in gear and we didn't know it. Took hours of trouble shooting to figure that out.
