I seem to remember seeing something on here about the 2011-2013 ish LS7s having the conn rods rubbing together and galling up the inside faces and burning up the crank ends of the rods. I don't think they had initial catastrophic failure just lagged performance detected by a Blackstone oil test for Ti PPM. Just a thought
Given your current location, the car's location this isn't going to be cheap regardless of what you do next. Hire a car transport company or Hot Shot Load type car hauler and have the car picked up and delivered to the nearest independent repair shop you trust.
Given you live in FL I would get the car over to Nashville (3 hr haul), reach out to a local Corvette club as I'm sure they will have someone to recommend.
DBR High Performance in Spring Hill, south of Franklin.
Again, thank you all for your help! I was about to have my car put on a hauler to come back to SW FLA but decided to do as suggested and call GM customer service. I did so, and was given some qualified hope that GM would give me some assistance with my situation. I was assigned a case # and was told I would hear from them by next Thursday. I will keep you posted on my progress.
What a great site this is! I never even thought of contacting GM customer service. Now to see what they do.
I think you need to get to the bottom (or closer to) of what happened. GM will contact the dealer and the more they tell you/the more you know, the more ammo you will have when you hear back...
Keep us updated on how this plays out, I'm not a fan of the dealers for the simple reason that your car is 12 years old and dealers just don't want to mess with that. Also, parts will become an issue as the dealer will only use GM parts and a lot of stuff for the C6 is not produced or stocked.
Upon questioning the service manager, he told me the car will start and run but does so very poorly. When I asked him what they saw when they scoped the cylinders ( I asked if they scoped all cylinders and he said yes), he told me it looked like a valve had dropped but they couldn't tell if there was any damage to the pistons etc.
I am not currently with the car. Any thoughts?
This doesn't make any sense to me. If it "looked like a valve had dropped," the damage in that cylinder would be catastrophic. There would be no uncertainty about piston damage. I would be asking for pictures of the scope images that lead them to believe a valve has dropped.
This is what a piston looks like after a dropped valve (not my image).
When a valve drops it falls into the cylinder sleeve and rattles around and the damage is catastrophic. I don't think that's what happened in your case. If the dealer can't figure this out I would suggest getting the car to someone else. The next step might be pulling the heads.
Car is still in Carbondale. Currently I'm waiting to hear back from GM customer service to see if they will offer any help with my circumstance. I was told I would hear back by Thursday this week. To my knowledge the car never had any work done on the heads. I'll keep you posted on how I proceed.
If the problem is not a dropped valve (which at this point seems real), the total fix could cost less than transporting it to FL. You need to identify the cylinder/bank involved and pull the valve cover or just pull both valve covers. Pulling the valve covers is cheap insurance that you're making the right decisions.

I had the exact thing happen awhile back.Running like crap,Service Traction lit up on the DIC.Turned out was a bad spark plug.Car had maybe 13,500 miles on it with original plugs.
UPDATE: Went with the OP (who happens to only live a few blocks from me) to the Dealership in town where the tow truck driver mistakenly dropped his car off at we talked to the SA who was handling this ticket...below is the ticket for the dealership in Illinois where the car was first taken to. Sounds like the plugs were removed and engine scoped and "NEEDS A COMPLETE TEARDOWN" was noted...a P0106 was noted and TAC Case was opened...if the Tech could not diagnose a MAP sensor issue that he needed to elevate this that is very SAD !!...a scope was done presumably and damage was annotated as "NONE NOTED" and "POSSIBLE" dropped valve...HUH ??... if there was a valve issue that would have been clearly seen during the borescope...well, there you go another reason you should NOT be taking your car to a dealership for a diagnosis...once we get the car back to the OPs house the first thing I'll do is a full system scan after checking the battery and then pull all the plugs and look in there myself with my borescope...had 40 years of experience borescoping jet engines so this shouldn't be too hard to do...will look for any "dropped valves" or piston or cylinder wall damage...if the engine looks OK will do a quick relative compression test with the plugs reinstalled but maybe just to a "clear flood crank" and see if I can hear a low compression cylinder...if there is a low compression cylinder the in cylinder pressure transducer will be used to see what may be wrong and takes but a few minutes...worn cam lobe, broken valve spring etc...no engine disassembly...BTW, the other SA who was there said "you can't do the programming for ECM, TCM, BCM and ONLY GM dealerships can do that "...it would cost a repair shop $120,000 to be able to do that"...it was a lady who has worked there for 30 years so I didn't tell her she is full of S##T and you don't know what you're talking about...I held my tongue...will report back once we get the car out of there....oh, with the "service active handling" coming on and the car running rough sounds like a misfire...maybe that is all that is wrong with the car.
Shame, I never had anything bad to say about that dealer when I was down there for college but that's a pretty **** poor diagnosis effort for the price in my opinion.

Well if I find that this is something simple I'm going to give that dealership an earful !!
