Default Brakes/shocks

Hi all. I received a quote to replace all brakes (pads + rotors) and all four shocks...$2840 including labor. Is that a fair price? I've never replaced any of these parts. This is on a 2012 C6, 48,300 miles. I bought it brand new.

My first question would be with only 48,300 miles what leads you to believe that "all" the brake pads, rotors and shocks need replacing? Seems pretty extreme, my 2012 GS has similar miles and I have no issues with brakes or shocks.

Assuming that the parts list is about $1000 to $1200 and the rest is labor which would be about 8 hours at $175, that's not terrible.

But I also question the need to change shocks and the rotors at that mileage.

If the shocks, pads, and rotors need to be changed, I would save a lot of money and just do the work myself. This kind of work is not difficult.
