Default Green Catted X-Pipe

Hello, my name is Tony, i'm 34 years old and i come from germany and i hope i can get help here. I love 2 seated, american cars and because of that i drive a 2013 C6 GS with AT since over 2 years. Now i need new catalytic converters and i heard from green catted x pipes. Is there any experience or does anyone know whether I can pass the emissions test with the catted x pipes here in Germany and if so, are all of the x-pipes 3“ or are there 2,5“? My C6 has the Euro5 standard, which i need for general inspection and emissions test. Here are some pictures from my C6

and if it was bad, sorry for my english

Your car has 4 cats, there are two right after the exhaust manifolds, that ends of them is what is bolting to the front of the X pipes, then you have two cats in X pipe as well.

Lets start there, and is the exhaust system still oem, or was long tube headers installed, with only the cats in the X pipes now?

Next, need to see data log on your front/ pre o2 sensors, and your rear/post O2 sensors in real time, to see if problem is really the cats, or if problem is O2 sensor(s) going lazy instead.

It is the OEM NPP Exhaust, no tunes. On friday a mechanic will look with a endoscope through the o2 sensor opening because i have the p0430 error.

I believe your tail lights are not all in the correct locations. Swap your inner right and left lights.

P0430 Catalyst System Low Efficiency Bank 2 ECM.
Have the mech start by data logging all 4 of the O2 sensors in real time, to make sure your don't have a lazy rear O2 sensor on the passenger side that needs to be replace.

Also, visual of the inside of the cat through the o2 sensor bung will not do a thing, since when a cat goes bad, its not the combs in the cat that are damaged, but the coating on the surface of the combs that not longer burns the un-burnt fuel when they heat up.

Thanks for the detailed information. I ordered Z06 manifolds, downpipes with catalytic converters, and an H-pipe from America yesterday. I'll go that route and be on the safe side with regard to German regulations. And it's much cheaper. We'll still take care of the lambda sensors.

Is that a GM color for Europe or a wrap? I've never seen a C6 painted that color.

The Z06X pipe will be 3", while the gs stock mufflers will have 2-1/2 pipes/ Not the end of the world, but your mech will need to get the adapters to add to the end of the trimmed z06 X pipes, to convert them down to the stock GS muffler pipe sizes.

As for pre cats, looks like someone ran leaded fuel in the car to cause the build up on them, which could have take out the post cats as well.

Yeah, i ordered everything for it, Z06 manifolds, H-Pipe, downpipes with cats, all gaskets and reducers from 3“ to 2,5“. I don‘t know, since i have the car, about 2,5 years, i fill up V-Power from Shell. The mechanic said the inside of the cats were crumbling… now they are empty and i wait for the z06 parts. But the sound is so damn good now and 100-200 in 9.2 sec. Thats good for a stock GS i think. Ok, without pre cats.

The posts cats are ok i think.

Tony!
My first thought was, that car is Gorgeous!
My second thought was, I do not recall having seen that color.
Did I mention your car is gorgeous?
Glad you got your problem sorted out.
