Default Looking For Alternative Part

Hey Forum!
I need to change my front shocks out, actually on my C5 but doing the C6Z upgrade.
Problem is I cannot find the GM Upper shock insulator: 10157967 anywhere, seems it is discounted.
As I don't have one to measure myself, I was wondering if anyone had any leads on any aftermarket parts that would work here?
Its the top cone in this picture

Thanks!

I'm looking for that part too! Except I dropped drivers side while changing out shocks just last night. And now, it's lost. Very frustrating. Let us know if you find something.

Ya I can close this out.
Doug Rippie Motorsports sells some bushings by energy suspension you can use! $30 IIRC.

I hope those work. I saw them last night and thought it was only the bottom part for all 4 shocks, not the missing top part on the front shock. If I cannot find my lost one when I get home tonight, my plan is to size it up with something from McMaster-Carr. They have lots of rubber grommets that may work. https://www.mcmaster.com/products/gr...ubber+grommets

Speaking with them on the phone, it seemed to me like you use them in a similar manner to how the Bilsteins work. i.e sandwich the mounting plate of the car. So you can discard your old bushings all together.

So I bought the Doug Rippie parts, after giving up on finding my lost top rubber piece for the drivers side front shock. The top and bottom pieces together will not work on factory FE1 "soft ride" shocks. I was able to use just the top piece from Doug Rippie while keeping the stock rubber bottom, even then it's close. See picture, there's not much thread for the nut to grab, and this was with my floor jack pushing up on the shock. It rides fine going down the road. In my case, it was just a lot of $$ just to only use the top pieces for the front shocks. See Doug Rippie part with red arrow, factory part with green arrow.

Was the "lip" of the DRM bushing too big to go in the hole in the steel plate?

No not too big on that part. Just too much height overall compared to stock rubber pieces. Probably/maybe aftermarket shocks would work better with these Doug Rippie parts.

Sorry it did not work as intended for you...
Which shock p/n did you go with? might be good to document for others in the future.

I am surprised the stack-up is too tall, but like you say maybe they're only for aftermarket or the bilsteins they sell.
Although on the phone with them I was given the impression it should work

GM GENUINE 540514 is what I installed which is the factory FE1 "soft ride" shocks. These don't work as intended with these shocks. So do they work with the C6 ZO6 shocks?
