Hi there, I have a N/A 750 HP C-6, I'm currently running a vacuum pump with An fittings hooked directly to to aftermarket Holley valve covers that have some sort of baffling in them. On the street The vacuum pump works great, but once I get on track my catch can is quickly filling up and it ruins my day! So my question is is there anyone out there running a vacuum pump out there on track? I'm naturally aspirated and the vacuum pump picked up 15 horsepower throughout the RPM range so I'd like to keep it if I can.. I'm just not sure anyone out there is running a vacuum pump for track use without any issues. If you are, I would love to hear from you on how your lines are routed. Thank you so much in advance... 🏁🏁🏁
I can post some photos, but the lines are routed the same as the stock set up to the oil tank and Valve covers? The only difference is the vacuum pump is tapped right into the top of the valve covers with an AN fitting, and there are baffles right where the AN fittings are welded to the valve covers.
I know vacuum pumps are great for drag racing, so my question is, is anyone on using a vacuum pump with good results on the Road-Course???
Interesting.
Yes they are good for drag racing and I have no experience with road racing but I'd imagine a device that's belt driven and actively pulling vacuum would fill up rather quickly at sustained high rpms.
