Default LS head on block crooked?

All, I have a new take-off head that im installing on an iron block. The front edge of the head is slightly crooked and not flush on the block. Do I need to worry? Looks like about 1/8" difference from front to rear of the head. Lower side of the head is flush, and it is proud about 1/8" on the upper side of the engine. also can confirm both alignment dowels are in place.

Think theres that much movement with the dowels in for me to flush it out if I remove the heads?

I cannot quite visualize what you are describing. Can you post a picture maybe?

If you have the corner dowels installed and when you drop the bolts or studs in, it would be hard for it to be anything other than square.
