Never heard of a “Tech 2 Capable Shop”…any decent shop should have a factory level scan tool.

I'm not looking for a diagnostic work, i want to add my coilovers and needing to disable the FA45/55 so that i have no issue with the install. the same goes for the steering column problem, and i need a shop that has a tech2 so i can have those things disabled as a regular factory scanning tool isn't capable or so is my understanding of it

When I had my C5 I was able to disable my F45 with either my Tech 2 or my Autel factory level scan tool…anything I can do with my Tech 2 I can do with either my Autel, Snap On, or Launch scan tools.

I worked at a Chevy dealership in Florida. We had one tech 2 scanner on a shelf and it never worked.

You can purchase new "clone" tech 2s for a couple of hundred bucks online. The one I got is in every way identical to my shop's (even came with the GM decals) and I suspect it was simply a leftover. They are not hard to use ...

This. If you use your Tech 2 twice it covers the cost over what a dealer will charge to plug it into your car for any reason. I first purchased my Tech2 to do a reset of the headlight leveling system on a Saab. I have since used it to reprogram BCM, reset fuel alcohol percentage due to a faulty virtual flex fuel measurement, activate ABS pump for brake bleeding, and various diagnostics and code-reading.
