Default No key fob message

Hi. I have just picked up my 2008 C6 from spring service. Stopped for gas on the drive home, So far all good. Finished gassing, got back into the car but when I tried to start it and pushed the button what I got was a clicking sound and the No FOBmessage. After a few tries I put the FOB into the glove compartment slot, car started with no problems. At home and parked I tried to restart as a test with no problem. Doors locked and all is good.

I know they replaced the battery and they had no problems using the FOB or driving. Only when I stopped for a short time.for gas. Any ideas what the issue might be. I don't want to get stuck somewhere. I generally do not carry the second key unless on a long trip.

Thanks.

Go back to that same gas station, and try to park at the same dispenser you did before, only take your other FOBS. See if it works, without putting in slot.

Gas stations now, use microwave tech to communicate with tank monitoring equipment, as well as the refinery for inventory control. These can be very strong if you park in the "right" place. So strong in fact, that RFI can be a real thing. For this reason, you NEVER want to roll ur windows up when you go to fuel, or you could be locked out of your car. Seen it happen, with a C6 that parked too close to a transformer in BigBear, Ca. Had to tow the car about 100 feet away, then all was good.

This is, presuming that the FOBS battery is showing >3V under load.
