Shock upgrade needed?

Shock upgrade needed?
I have an 04 C5 with stock suspension. What type shocks can I install to stiffen up my suspension or do I need to go with Z06 springs etc.? I need to do something to keep my new vert from bottoming out on the rough roads where I live. Some advice needed.
