smalll block/ big block?
What is the difference between a small block and a big block motor? Is it something more than the size of the displacement of the combustion chambers? Does a small block or a big block have some type of advantage in the amount of power they make? Andy

the big block is basically a big small block, it can have a much larger displacement and can therefore make a lot more power, they also weigh more. the small block has a 4.4 inch bore spacing, whereas a big block has a 4.84 inch bore spacing. also the old small blocks had a deck height of 9.025 inches, and the big blocks have either 9.8 or 10.2. the new gen 3 and gen 4 small blocks have a 9.24 inch deck height. hope this helps

If I'm not mistaken, the 427 Andy refers to is still a small block.
Also World Products has a 454 small block.
