About to order a C6....

Hey guys im about to order my first vette....a yellow C6...maybe a stupid question but I know there is a $1400 option to get 2 tops (car color and glass) but if i dont get this option what top comes standard on the C6....color or glass??? Thanks for your time guys...

You get a choice unless you buy the dual top option. The popular opinion I have read here is to order the painted one first if you only want one because that way it gets painted with the car. The glass roof appears black from a distance.

Painted is standard. Optionally you can get the trans top which deletes the painted top or you can go with the 2 top option.

Go with the transparent

Saw the Millinium Yellow with both tops - looks so much better with the transparent top since a lot of the trim is black. Also it's an awesome view through the transparent top. But I think unless you order it as an option, you're going to get the painted one.

I got both tops with my C5. Did not like the glass top and never used it. I sold to someone who really wanted it.

I like the look of the all yellow. I was also distracted by the sun light coming in from the top. It can also heat up the cockpit. But hey that is just my opinion. and any way you get a vette is

- Just drive it and dont make it a garage queen.

It also depends where you live which top you may prefer.
I had a Millenium Yellow C5 with both tops and now have an MY C6 with just the painted top.

I found the 'glass' top was pretty hot in the sun during the summer so usually went with my painted top. And here in Canada you don't get much winter driving when it is cool enough for the transparent top. Which is why I opted just for the painted top on my C6. I figure I can always buy the transparent top later.

However I have always preferred the look of the MY with the black looking transparent top.

Dual Tops

Due to lack of availability the dual tops option has been on hold. I suggest you order your car with the painted top as you can order a transparent top through the parts department. If you order the transparent top with the car and decide at a later date to get the painted, you will have to get an unpainted top and have it painted.
