Default Adding HUD to 1SA car?

Does anyone know if this is possible and or how much it would cost? I'm trying to get as base a vet as possible since I can't really afford a c6 BUT was curious what it would take to at least at HUD to the base car.

Thanks.

Not sure, but I guess anything can be done for a price. Think about it...different dash, windshield, interfaces to other features, g meter. It's a long list. Probably cheaper and more reliable to order 1SB if you want the HUD.

Gene at Fred Beans is advertising this:

HUD – 10279814 – 166.67
Switch – 12198648 – 62.95
Bezel – 10425223 – 16.00

Shipping for the HUD setup is 18.50

But you'll also need a new dash and pad with the right cut out, a special windshield with the correct reflection coating, and the various interface bits to actually be able to install it and make it work. It isn't a project I'd want to tackle.

Actually that may, or may not, be entirely true. Someone is going to have to be the first to research this and find out for sure. I'll detail what you said point by point to show you why I say this. On the C5 Corvette:

a new dash and pad with the right cut out
The dash pad on Non-HUD cars was "scored" on the bottom side. All that was necessary to install a HUD was remove the dash pad and cut along the scoring to create the hole. Install the bezel to finish off this aspect.

a special windshield with the correct reflection coating
Completely unnecesary. There were/are dozens or more of people here on the forum who installed the HUD with the "regular" windshield. Without exception I can't recall a single one who found the HUD performance unacceptable with the non-HUD windshield. So I'm presupposing that this would again be the case.

and the various interface bits
Probably already there. Again, installing HUD's in non-HUD C5's has been a popular mod for sometime. When the C5 was dissected for this mod, it was discovered that the connection(s) needed on the instrument cluster were already there on model year cars in which the HUD was available as an option. Since the HUD is an option on all C6's, again, I'm betting the connection/interface on the instrument cluster is present here as well.

Ok, that's it. Anyone volunteering to find out how much of what we learned on the C5 is going to carry over to the C6? If I were a betting man, I'd say a great deal of it will.
