What kind of supercharger oil are you guys running?
I lost the documentation for my ECS 1500 kit, so I'm not sure what is recommended and what the change intervals are. I've noticed a few different types on amazon. GM even has some for the factory supercharged vehicles.
My yellow tag on a V3 Si says:
*Check oil every 2,500 miles
*Initial oil change 2,500 miles
*Subsequent oil changes at least every 7,500 miles
Just to be safe i'll be changing mine every 5K or less. Since it takes some oil to fill the drain line, my oil level is usually about half way on the dipstick. Is yours like that as well? I wonder if I should add a bit more in to compensate for the drain line..
I would hope that the dipstick would be calibrated to account for the drain line. When I asked Josh at A&A, he said he usually uses just a little less than 1 bottle on each change ~about 3.8 ounces.

Hmm thats interesting. I'll have to see how it looks after my next changeout..
Doug at ECS advised to change mine at 500 initially then at every oil change thereafter. I know the manufacturer says 2500 for the first change but I'd rather err on the side of caution. I got my 3 pack of S/C oil from Jets.

I have an ECS Kit. When I was there for first engine and supercharger oil change, they said you could also just use mobile 1.
Mobile one would make sense seeing the guys with non self contained units are using the engine oil to lubricate the charger.
The Paxton/Vortech SC lube is likely power steering fluid or auto trans fluid based (very thin and red). Frankly, I think many similar types of high temp lubes will provide many years of excellent service with little to no undo wear. But I'm not too cheap to pop for a $30 lube job to risk harming the seals or gears. Every 7k mile changes are few and far between for me.
