With so many comments like "Well my set up. Runs and drives like a ZR1 with out the cost. - I think I would spank a ZR1".
Why did you decide to dump the LT4 conversion on your Grandsport?
#163
I did not dump my set up - I sold it and the whole car - was gonna buy a ZR1. But now gonna wait for C8 to come out
I reached the limit of the stock block which was 750hp and had to either build block or it blow up - going C8 now

Update:
I wanted to check in and update this thread...I have now passed 25k miles on my car and almost 10k on the supercharger...All is going well. I had a Car "condriac" moment while on vacation a couple months ago, when I believed I was hearing the supercharger much louder than it should be..I was concerned that the Supercharger bearings were going bad. On the way back from vacation I drove right through Cincinnati so I made a pit stop at Weapon X and had "Dr. Ben Herndon" take a listen to see if he heard any unusual bearing noises...He said that all was well...no issues!! I was worried about nothing!! Ben and Blake from Weapon X have been there for me from Day 1 whenever I call them..I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to do any type of performance mods to their Corvette!!
I wanted to mention that over the past few weeks I have been working with Ben Charles AKA "T/A Kid" (he was the first person to do the LT4 blower swap on LT1) on some tuning tweaks and I just want to say that it has been a great experience. He made some very nice refinements to the Engine and Trans tunes. Don't hesitate to look up Ben if you have any tuning needs. He is on Corvette Forum and the HP Tuners Forum. By no means is this any type of knock (no pun intended) on the Weapon X tune...I love those guys!! and I have a long list of more mods I would like them to do during this upcoming "off" season....I just think tuning these cars is 1 part engineering, 1 part experience, and 1 part nuance....It is not an exact science for sure and there are many variables that can be adjusted to make refinements. I am so glad that Ben from Weapon X suggested that I have my own HP Tuner programming interface and software....Well worth the 450.00....
I am headed back down to TN/NC this weekend to run The Tail of the Dragon and the Smoky Mountain Loop...Should be a blast!! I will report back after my trip!

Well I am at 16k since my conversion and 63k on the clock.
My car has been perfect except for a minor tweak to the tune done by RPM Garner NC.
I was at VIR for the IMSA race last weekend and my car got a lot of attention after the “parade laps” while being surrounded by Z06’s! The car is simply amazing!

I was wondering if you still had yours. Appreciate the update!

Im really close to pulling the trigger on this... but I have a few qeustions:
1. I see the upgrades to the fuel system, but what about exhaust? are most of you running the stock exhaust system?
2. any other way to keep temps down other than meth?
I'm looking at purchasing the kit from WeaponX ( I emailed them but havent gotten a response yet) and having it installed/tuned by a local shop. Anybody give me a ballpark price on what you paid for install and tuning?
Thanks!

1. I am running stock headers with a Borla Xpipe and Borla ATAK exhaust.
2. I added an expansion tank (which adds about 1.5 gallons more fluid to the Supercharger cooling system). This winter I am going to have Weapon X replace the stock heat exchanger with the Weapon X "enhanced" heat exchanger. I will say that when I added the expansion tank it lowered my IAT temps at the blower by 10 degrees across the board. .
I paid around 8k for install and tuning. (I bought the supercharger, and most other parts separately from a person on the forum.)
Hope that helps.

1. I upgraded my fuel; stock lt4 injectors and Hffp. Purchased the injectors from paceperformance.com and HFFP off ebay brand new cheaper than what most are selling them for. Headers 1 7/8 ARH /Corsa exhaust
2.Run higher octane gas, torco is a option as well, e85 is a option
3.I installed myself and did a remote tune with Chris Crawford Racing. I have nothing but fun! Best $3250 spent (blower, pulleys, lt4 fuel injectors and HFFP, belt, harness, meth)
inbox me you have any questions

Round Two! Second Supercharger installed and start up checks complete. Oil changed twice and will not elaborate sept to say better to do the job yourself then taking it to a oil change company.

Good evening all, I will be having this conversation performed on my '16 Z51 in about two weeks and am very much looking forward to it.
My goal is no more than 525 WHP which I believe is nice and conservative. I am having the '17 blower installed which is a bit taller than the '16 and before so I am also swapping out my hood for an OEM Z06 hood. I already have headers and an intake but I do not think I am going to upgrade the fuel system just yet as I believe the stock system will be good enough for my goals. The one thing I am unsure of is the pulley. I am not sure which pulley my installer/tuner will be using. Do you think the stock pulley will suffice?
Thanks for any input.

You will probably find out your going to need to go to the bigger fuel injectors and fuel pump. When you have a dyno it will show up. Damage can occur to starved engines with not enough fuel. The stock pulley will help with the fuel issue, putting on a smaller one will increase the need for more fuel.

Yeah, maybe. I spoke with my installer / tuner for about an hour or so and that did come up. He said that he can tune it so that the stock LT1 fuel system will be fine (lower power output) but did recommend the LT4 parts for any future increases.
