Default Advice for modifying S.C. setup.

Sup guys! Right now I'm running the V3 Si A&A setup. I dynoed at 546whp with a 93 tune. At 5.14 lbs with a 3.8 pulley. That is at 5280 feet in elevation in Colorado. On a stock Z51 with NPP.

Looking to modify my setup and go to a 3.46 pulley to increase psi and 100% meth.

Can I expect to be at 650 to 700 whp with that setup?

Default ttt

I don't see that number at all with above mods. Maybe 625 at most even with that 3.4 pulley & 100% meth. But would try to get a GOOD tuner with I was going to try to push that number from the car with those mods. Robert

I'm very surprised at only 625ish Because I have seen ppl at almost at 590HP my with setup and no meth on pump gas. Just a bit more of an aggressive tune. I say 650 would be a ultimate sweet spot since the SC I have now maxes out at 650 hp

Dyno's vary so much. Id say over 650 is going to be a happy dyno.

Im probably expecting too much for wanting to go over 650. Hopefully I can get to 650 tops and I be happy. Which is very close to 800 crank hp

We have been seeing a few piston failures when getting close to 700hp with the LT1

With your elevation, nope. 3.47 pulley and 100% dual meth with long tube headers at sea level is about 640HP.

A good rule of thumb is that if the temp/humidity/barometric pressure are all "normal", you lose 3% power per 1,000 ft above sea level. So at about 5,000 ft, you lose about 15% power. With the mods I mentioned earlier, assuming 640-650hp at sea level, you'd end up with about 550hp at 5,000 ft elevation. If someone shows you higher numbers with that same scenario, then they either have "corrected" numbers, or, they were on a "happy dyno".

Lol i see many dynos that are off lol. Originally tune just with the SC. I ended up 546 whp corrected on a dyno jet. I guess the official goal would be 650 of corrected of course.

If you want a true 650 at your elevation, you'll need to register about 750 on the dyno up there. Your car stock will lose about 30% of the advertised 465 hp. 15% for your elevation, and 15% drivetrain loss. That puts your stock output around 325 rwhp. The 546 being "corrected" means your blower increased your HP about 140hp putting you around 465 actual HP. (It already accounts for drivetrain loss since its rwhp). This number is then "corrected" by adding in an additional 15% of inflated numbers for elevation correction.

That is so crazy! I can't believe how much these cars suffer cuz the elevation. As long As I am at 650 whp at sea level id be happy.

Then you need the combo I had, 3.47 pulley, dual 100% meth (25-30 gph worth) and long tube headers. These with a GOOD tune will get you where you want to be.

I'm not familiar with headers on these cars. I've seen them go from $400 to over $1k. Is there a specific one I need?

Recommendation is American Racing Headers in the size of 1 7/8" primaries with the X pipe having NO cat converters (thats the BEST option), or you can look at TSP headers. ARH is about $2,000 new. You can find them for about $1500 used. not sure what you found for $400 but they are junk. Real headers for a C7 START no cheaper than about $800-$900.

That is just for the X pipe. When you change the "selection" pulldown you see the real price. Selecting the headers and Xpipe adds another $1300.. see below. As I said, you aren't going to find a "real" set that cheap. Most are over $1,000+
