We decided against the Callies H beam rods. We chose the I Beam. Anyone else have any input on 1100 whp supporting rods?

Again when the car is done post some 1/8 r 1/4 track slips here.. Robert
I have seen a lot of guys make 1000whp with the 2200r without nitrous which is the ysi with billet gear cover, and I personally made 865 on pump gas with a kind of bad cam for my setup at 6300 rpm, that was all on stock heads stock intake and stock cubic, my new setup will be with a 4.075 bore and ported heads with a procharger intake manifold, maybe later add the 100 shot not sure yet, unfortunately I don’t do 1/4 or 1/8 since my diff isn’t built yet

A lot of these shop on a dyno can MAKE a car do about 20% plus MORE are LESS from what load they can put onto it.

So a lot of shop will ask are just give you a number that you are asking to make. I am sure with a very good tuner & meth & more fueling the YSI FOR SURE WILL PUT DOWN THE 1,K RWHP. But also it will need the 2.75 pulley & a excellent tuner.

With all of what you are saying here plus the race gas should be 1,k to 1025 rwhp don't see it much over this on it.. If this is a good number car should run in very high 8,k in the 1/4 mile are very low low 9,s. Robert

I run the compstar rods and im at 900wheel with no issues. Steven at LMR told me when we built the motor he bent a compstar at 1200 wheel.

As others have said it's all in the tune.

Tune plus how hard & more to HOW LONG you are push the car for. Let say this these 1 mile runs going for the 200 plus MPH that long and hard will take its tow on any motor.

Tune & the motor build better be really good & all good parts..

I think anything over 800 rwhp on stock LT1 rods is on borrowed time...especially if you actually run the car.

Compstar rods are much stronger.... I made 900 rwhp on compstar rods in a 402" LS for 2 years, 8k miles and never had a problem with them.... The Compstar crank on the other hand, is junk.

I think the compstar rods will be fine at 1000 rwhp (stick car)....
I assume rpm might have a lot to do with this? Are we talking sub 7000k rpm pulls or are most pushing over 7000k?

IMO you will lift the heads before you break one.

Im on stock rods and can run mine up to 7300. The big thing is making sure your valvetrain can handle the rpms..

Its allllll in the tune buddy. Stock parts or the best of the best. If the tune is **** the motor will be ****. A compstar rod will be fine. I would run a good set of heads though to sure up the valve train at 7K.
