Maybe this will help some folks. I know it’s hard to find the actual weight or weight savings on a lot of performance parts. Wheel weights are hard to find. So are things like intake manifolds and such. I recently completed my Procharger with ARH long tube build and here are my findings. I only had a bathroom scale so I didn’t include savings on engine internals.

The kit kit was a Procharger D-1X with vertical cooler, big race valve, race intake and ATI balancer. I also replaced the entire axle forward exhaust with ARH 2” long tube headers and off road cat x-pipe. Stock NPP mufflers left in place.

ATI balancer with aluminum SC pulley 10.5 lbs - factory balancer 11 lbs
ARH 2” headers 13 lbs ea - factory manifolds 26.5 ea. including primary cats
ARH x mid pipe w/cats 26 lbs. - factory mid pipe with cats 24.5 lbs
Procharger D-1X 30 lbs
Intercooler 21.5 lbs
Misc Procharger parts 20 lbs
Mightymouse Solutions catch can 3.5 lbs

Total weight gain of parts and packaging was about 52 lbs *Note: some of the weights above included packaging materials

Unused parts from kits and packaging materials came to about 9.5 lbs
Unused original parts such as air box, filter, and engine covers came to about 15 lbs

52 minus 24.5 lbs of leftover materials gives a TOTAL GAIN of about 27.5 lbs - this number actually surprised me. I expected more. Unfortunately all of the gain was ahead of the front axle!

*Disclaimer - all weights were recorded with me holding the parts while standing on the bathroom scale with +/- .5 lbs resolution...oh...and maybe a beer in one of my hands. Your mileage may vary

 

Good thread thank you. But doesnt the complete pc weight come to 71lbs? 30 for the pc, 21 for ic, and 20 for miscellaneous?

 

This was net gain. Exhaust and engine parts removed knocked a bunch off.

 

Got her tuned yet? Im waiting on my d1x to ship out still.

 

Working with a tuner through email right now. Hope to get it on a dyno for more thorough tuning very soon.
