Default Procharger Install

I’m looking at getting a pro charger kit for the Z06 but I’m not sure the differences are between the tuner kits. Could someone please explain? Also, would it be better to buy the kit myself and have a shop do the install and tune, or buy the kit from a local shop?

Thanks for the advice

Procharger has a kit that comes with a tune and one without that the installer would custom tune. The kits with tunes are usually for the baby blowers not the F1A94 you'd probably run on your Z06. I would pick a couple shops you trust and get pricing from them to do it turn key. I would also get pricing on just the kit so you know what is parts and what is labor. Just my advice. Most shops don't want to just be a labor hand. They need to keep the doors open with some parts revenue as well.

I see you are near Lubbock so you have a lot of options in the great state of Texas ... LMR in Houston, AMP in Dallas, 21st Century in Dallas, If you wanted to go west a little Cordes in Phoenix.

Lots of options for you. Get a few different prices and build a few different relationships.

I’ve seen a couple of the kits with the F1a-94 got for between $9800 (on sale) - $13K. I’m assuming for a turn key job a shop would have an up charge on the procharger kit correct?

You are exactly correct about the great state of Texas 😁😁. Some pretty damn good shops here

Yea you're probably looking at about $2500 for install and tune on top of the blower. Maybe a little more maybe a little less. Most shops should be selling the procharger kit close to the "street" price because they should be buying it a little cheaper from procharger. Just call around and get a few quotes. This should be a fairly straight forward conversation with a shop. You should consider headers also.

Yeah I’d definitely want to add headers and a flex fuel kit as well

Flex fuel is where the slippery slope will start. You won't have the fuel with the stock LT4 fuel system to run a F1A94 and flex fuel without adding meth injection. Or upgrading the low side fuel system and putting in bigger DI injectors.

Blower and headers you'll be fine. After that you're gonna need meth as a band aid, or a cam and better DI injectors, and a low side aux fuel system.

The joys of DI

So even with a 19 I’ll need an upgraded low side fuel pump? I thought these cars came with the ZR1 low side fuel pump but I could be wrong

Yea you’ll get away with a little more, but there will still be a limit with flex fuel.

I would discuss with the shop you want to use your goals and see what the best path is for it based on what they do. I would not supply any parts to the shop as most will not allow it. If you're interested in sending the car to us I would be happy to put something together for you. But if you want to stick to TX I would contact AMP.

I’ve heard good things about AMP and LMR. I would preferably like to do it in stages if I can because I’m not ready to drop $20-$30K on a build, or possibly more
