Default Supercharged at 60k?

Just got my 2014 z51 m7 all stock in the fall and I'm looking for more power and torque. I have 59k on the clock and was thinking about adding some HP in the form of a supercharger but am I looking at problems with this engine with this type of mileage? Or is there some safer mods that would get me 100HP at the wheels? This is just a weekend warrior car and I don't track the car but where I live there is a lot of fast cars out here. What's your thoughts on a Z06 Supercharger is that a PIA to modify or go with an A&A or other brand. TIA

I’m currently selling my Procharged C7 since I now have a new C8. My Procharger was installed @ 9,000 miles and the car has 52,000 on it now. Never has let me down. Centrifugal superchargers are great as the car feels stock and produce power as the rpm’s rise.

57,000 miles on my Procharged LT1 , installed supercharger at 52,000. As long as you don't go crazy and keep the boost level within reason there should be no problems

Start pushing it over the 600 HP mark is where you might have problems

As others have said keep it at 7-8 PSI and it'll be fine. I would go with a ESC or A&A centrifugal setup because it is far simpler. The Lt4 blower requires a heat exchanger and a pump and reservoir, etc.

Agreed , I would go with a centri also , procharger install was a piece of cake and i did not even have to move the ABS unit

Also centri makes power midrange to top end, PD blower is instant making hooking up a lot harder . Granted I am not making huge power but with stock MPSS runflats , If I leave traction control on, i can roll pretty hard on the throttle from a standstill without making the tires just go up in smoke but at 2,500 to 6,500 look out .....

Dave,
Did you install the Procharger yourself. If so how was the installation process and did you do a remote tune or did you go to a tune shop.

This was the hardest part of the install ... my harmonic balancer bolt would not budge , heat , PB Blaster , the largest and strongest Impact gun with a Ingersoll rand 24 mm ringed socket did not budge it , finally a 36 inch breaker bar plus a 2 foot pipe and a few uga tugas later it came off . It was easy from there . My tuner had me buy a IAT breakout harness and a 3 bar map sensor plus a AIr Fuel meter

You can easily still add SC kit to that 2014 with those miles. I'd for sure recommend new set of spark plug wires during the SC install since these C7 wires seem to not last as long as the LS3/LS2 wire sets did. Keep it under 600 rwhp if just running pump gas 91 or 93 octane. Biggest thing for C7s is to find a reputable Tuner to get it dialed in correctly. Makes the vette so much fun to drive with boost.

I have an ECS on my 14. 34k miles. It was on the car when I bought it. Makes about 560hp. The shop said that was the perfect number. Even that kind of power you can't really use it on the street. Your in the triple digits so fast. I think I would rather have a Z06 blower. I'd rather have the power down low where you can feel it.
PS. this is off topic, but should you tell the insurance company you have a blower on your car?

@Goat 2 Vette I thought the same thing about the roots but when I thought it through, I went with the Centri ...

I am at the same power level as you are and can blow the tires off of it at will but at least I can manage it, If I am on my street tires, I leave the Traction Control on and roll into the throttle fast, with my Nitto Drag Radials, I can just brake torque it and then punch it and its like being shot out of a cannon.

What do you think it would do if you had a Roots Blower and the power came on instantly it would be a lot harder to manage and could be uncontrollable? If you can't get the power to the ground, then it's all wasted right

I want to pully down to a 4 inch because I have headers and a ported intake, but I am hesitant as I love the way I can jump off the line and really don't want to ruin it.

Not sure about yours but mine starts making serious power at around 2 grand and then it pulls like a runaway freight train all the way to the redline. Plus, you don't have 1/2 the heat soak issues that a PD blower has.

PS. this is off topic, but should you tell the insurance company you have a blower on your car?
Why ?

Thanks Dave,
The power of my Supercharger doesn't start building til about 3,500 rpm. I have to really put my foot into it to get into the supercharger. I talked to ECS and they said that's the way it is. I also have headers, catless xpipe and B & B fusion exhaust. And a Soler throttle body.
Other guys were saying you should tell the insurance company you have a supercharger or they might not insure you if you get into an accident.
