I was in a continuous improvement meeting with a few CI directors at GM this week and they told me one of the overwhelming factors of getting rid of the hideaway head light is insurance reasons. They will continue to push the day time running lights.
A tremendous indication as to why GM does so well these days, they have just the right product for the marketplace. I guess it will be C5 forever as the C6 is a Mitsubishi 3000 except uglier and the C7? I have a bad feeling that the person who did the hideous new Camaro may get involved, a design that makes the BMW 6 series look attractive... I think I will buy a Cayman next time, at least it looks like a Porsche, a company that understands a strong product identity....
makes sense, but i think they know how much everyone loves it... Ive read countless posts on here about long time corvette lovers that have owned every generation and at first didnt like the idea of getting rid of the hideaway lights... but then they changed their mind bigtime
