Default C7 Corvette

I just got my February 2010 issue of Corvette Enthusiast and according to GM VP of global design, Ed Welburn, went on record to say that he expects the C7 to have a split rear window. Also stating that Sideswipe from the movie Transformers is NOT the C7.
Just thought you'de want to know.

While I like the looks of the 63 split window, if GM goes through with that design on the C7, hopefully they address the visibility concerns that original one had.

February 2010 issue
....wow, you must live 1 000 000 time zones in the future. It's ridiculous that they publish magazines with future dates just to be "newer" than the competition...next you know, they will bring out newspapers with next weeks news Indy

The 63 split window coupe looked great, in 1963. But considering the stylist talent at GM these days is a lttle light on the idea of what the average Corvette owners would like to see in a C7. Take the 'New' Camaro ? The dodge challenger looks a h*&^ of a lot better in my opinion compared to the new Camaro. Now I understand that three Brand New stylist did the camaro, I don't like the idea of them undertaking the corvette. To GM: fix the present C6 corvette, get it as technological up to date as is necessary, clean up the front end and ship it out to dealers. Considering the financial situation, Don't go fixing something thats not broke.

My understanding is, the C6R uses a camera for its rearview mirror. Inexpensive, light weight, and would be able to give even better visibility. No need for a rear window at all, really. How cool would THAT look.....

what's crazy about the camaro is it strongly appeals to the younger demo while old die hard GM fans often dislike it. from a business perspective it's a TOTAL WIN. there are more than a few honda/acura fanbois that i have heard talking about how cool the camaro is. those are buyers that may come to market to buy a GM product that never would have done so before.

I agree, the new camaro is a hit by any measure, just look at the sales numbers.

I think the C6 was a big improvement over the C5 in most ways. Looks, performance, over all.... ect. I would love to see what the C7 will have, but I DOUBT they would go with a split window. Blind spot would be terrible.

Since the concensus is that the C6 is much better looking than the C5, then accordingly, I would expect the C7 to look better than the C6.

I don't agree that the C6 is better looking than the C5. There are aspects of the C6 that look good, but IMO, the C5 is a better looking car. The C6Z with the wide body is a huge improvement over the C6, but in the same only slightly better looking than the C5Z, again IMO.

I'm looking forward to the C7, but if it has the split window, I'll never buy one.

I stand corrected. The concensus of (non C5 owners) is that the C6 is better looking than the C5.

I won't argue that the C6 does or doesn't look good. I also won't get into the obvious discussion of weather the C5 owners are in denial or not about the looks of their car. There's absolutely a lot of improvements in the C6 over the C5. But to push an opinion as a fact is just not right. There's a LARGE group of people that like the C5s more than the C6 (coupe and convertibles). I won't get into why because that's a moot point. There's a substantially smaller group that believes that the C5Z is better looking than the C6Z. I'm on the fence with that one. I LOVE the FRC look. A lowered FRC just looks bitchen. But I've seen lots of C6Zs that look better. Stock for stock, I feel the FRC is a better look. That's my opinion and the opinion of quite a few people.

That's not to say I don't like the C6 or the C6Z. That's just my opinion that the C5 looks better. I'm not trying to argue about it, but I think that both generations had something to add, and that I'd like to see a C7 that has something from both.

If you don't want to discuss it then don't make comments like, "I hope it (C7) looks better than the C6" ...as if to knock the looks of the C6. If you're going to make comments like that, you will get reactions. You are, as we say, "asking for it", when you say stuff like that.

If we polled 100 people that owned neither a C5 or a C6, (so we take out any bias) you know and we all know that the majority will prefer the looks of the C6.

First off, I DIDN'T say "I hope it (C7) looks better than the C6". I don't know where you read that, but it didn't come from any of my posts. I simply said that I didn't feel that the C6 looked "better" than the C5. If anything I'm on the fence about them (as I posted above). They both have their design advantages.

Why are you picking a fight? And if you are going to pick a fight, do it with someone who's going to fight back, and support your comments with facts.
