Your thread title is just a flat-out lie. It's not funny, clever, or acceptable in the slightest.

I'm wondering if this is a platform that they could use to get more experience with a mid-engine platform for the C8?

That would be sweet...but I doubt GM will jump to a mid-engine platform.
Oh, and yes...this tread title is guilty of douchebaggery.

Similarities?
I think this may be pretty close to what we'll see. I mean two images in two days, and let's face it the sharper nose descent is there, the flatter and longer shape of the rear quarters. And, if you look at the lines of the rear hatch area, they are almost identical save the tender has some fiberglass and the concept is all black plexiglass.

this wont be the C7...BUT...like the Audi R8, this just may lead to a street version of some sort in he future. A limited production run, like the Ford GT would do wonders for Chevy and GM.
BUILD IT!

They are building it... you can buy it. It fits on 3 different Grand-Am DP chassis designs. You just have to have lots of money and race in Grand-Am

It would not surprise me at all, if this race car unveils major styling clues of the upcoming C7 though ...
