Default Interior-I'd kill for this!

I'm sick of black as the dominate color in every Corvette interior since 1984....except for a couple of special edition models. I saw this interior today in a photo file of the Jaguar concept the LA Auto Show.....I'd kill for a new C7 Corvette interior like this......I absolutely love all the red!!!!

Whoa amigo. Think twice.

I had that interior in a '65 Dodge. God, it sucked!

It was beautiful, but took lots of elbow grease every weekend to keep it pristine. I loved it, but it just wasn't worth the effort!

A buddy of mine had white leather in his 1997 Camaro anniversary edition. He had no complaints. Occasional leather cleaner, no big deal.

Anyway, such a striking look is worth a little effort.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. I think red looks terrible. I like red stitching, but can't stand red leather or dash surfaces. Blah!

I went to preview night at the L.A. Auto Show last night with 3 friends...all of us bigtime car people. I am on my 10th Vette, a 2010 GS vert 4LT. There were 2 Vettes at the show. A 2012 ZR1 fully equipped and a 2012 GS Vert Chevy 100th Anniversary Edition with the new seats. We saw almost every car at the show and agreed on one thing...the C6 interior is the biggest joke on the planet when it comes to sports cars. The cheap grainy leather and vinyl. The cheap plastic ***** and nav screen, the cheesy steering wheel, the poor use of materials and colors...EVERYTHING! We saw cars that listed, fully equipped for under 30K that had much nicer interiors. We saw Porsche Caymans and Boxters, Lotus Evoras, Asian cars, Bimmers, Caddys, new nissan Z's. All with wonderful well planned interiors. We sat in all of these cars and the feeling was so much better than sitting in the C6.
All I can say is that the C7 had better come up with a world class interior or it will be a major disappointment. Incidentally, the new Camaro ZL1 vert in cyber grey was on display...it was stunning!

Compare the two red colors b/w the Jag & Vette...I mean even the color hue GM chose for the red looks cheap! they can't even pick a nice correct color....that's pathetic!!!

Now comparing the interior quality of the two cars shows just how cheap looking the Corvettes interior is!! Also look at how the Leather (calling that leather is an insult to leather I think ) is creasing and cracked.

Where did/does GM hire their interior design/quality execs??? Former $.99 employees??? They seriously better increase the overall interior quality (including the creaking over driveways) exponentially otherwise I am afraid they are out of the game!!

Sounds like you would rather own a Jag...

I doubt if he would rather own a Jag. He, like myself would just like to see Chevy step up to the plate when it comes to interiors and seats.
other manufacturers who sell less expensive cars offer better materials, a wider range of colors to choose from, and supportive seats. My 2010 GS vert 4lt listed for 75K. That is not cheap...but the interior sure is!
For years, EVERY review of the C6, no matter how positive, highlighted the fact that the C6 interior and seats are 2nd rate. Are all of these reviewers, who see and test every car, off base?

It sounds as though the guy LOVES the Jag, so let him plunk his money down and enjoy paying to keep it on the road.

Everyone pays their money and makes their choice! I for one am satisfied with my car's interior.

I like the red in my car, and the seats are wearing damned well for a 2006 model. GM needs not apologize, at least to me, at all.

As to color differences: Do you even have a clue about photography, lighting, color saturation, etc? It's obvious you are ignorant on the subject. Two cars photographed under totally different lighting conditions (indoors vs. outdoors, for example) will yield completely different visual images. The only fair comparison is side-by-side.

Guess you didn't read my profile name? Regardless, this is 2011 and Jag's are actually very well made today.

If you are satisfied with the interior of the Corvette then there is no point in debating with you! But I tell you that you are definitely in the minority!!

Yes, I read your profile name. And yes, many current Corvette owners on CF post nothing but negatives about the interior. There are still tens of thousands more who agree with me; the interior is functional and meets our needs for a sports car.

Jags may be 'well' made, but their reliability sucks my friend. They garner a lot of black ***** and half black ***** on CR and other rating bodies. I realize your experience, if you have ever owned a Jag, may be different.

My best friend is on her 3rd Jag since 1998. NEVER a problem. Furthermore, every review of the C6, as positive as they almost all are, always flag the interior and cheap non supportive seats as a major downer. Can all of these reviews be wrong or prejudicial just because they say something negative about the C6. I am on my 5th C6 and love the cars. But I am the first to admit that the interior is far less than satifactory.

Opinions of features will vary, and many don't like the Corvette's interior. I have no problem with that.

My opinion, and the opinion of thousands of other owner's who think for themselves, is that the interior of the Corvette is acceptable as presented. Nothing more; nothing less.

As to the Jag's reliability: I'm glad your friend has had trouble-free service. The Jag has sucked from a reliability standpoint since the 1950s! While Ford owned them a few years ago, they learned a few lessons and reliability improved. Since Ford sold them off, it seems they have forgotten those lessons. The brand is a very low rated car as respects maintenance issues.

Sorry but the interior is FAR FAR from acceptable! Not even close! Maybe for you, but not for most. It's time for GM to step up and show the world that it is capable of building a true complete sports car with no excuses!!

And yes Jag's are pretty reliable these days. And their interior quality is top notch! They are slightly (barely) behind (compared to BMW, Mercedes) in some technologies, but overall First Class cars and the least over-priced European car IMO. You can buy a long body XJ for $80K that is much more sexier and a nicer interior (very Bentley like) than a $90K S Class or 7 series. same thing can be said of the Xf compared to the E class & 5 series. Again this is just my opinion
