That is just plain STUPID. Save yourself the extra money and just buy the stick on split from Ecklers. I have seen several, and they all look stupid. Nothing like the REAL thing....

It's primarily for support of the lexan window used for weight reduction.

The weight reduction is nice, but it really is, IMO, ugly. That's nothing but a sliver and looks nothing like a 63 split window. Maybe if it looked more substantial it would be an interesting option.

The 63 split back window went over like a lead balloon. The only reason it is desirable today is because it is a rare one year only Corvette. It is cool looking on a C2. Lets leave it at that.

For the life of me I cannot see why a split window 63 is so special. I much prefer them without any splits and would hate to see it come back unless it is somehow functional. Sure, not many sold so they are rare but that doesn't make them esthetically beautiful or faster or anything other than they didn't know how to bend glass that much then.

Some of these designs are related to the materials and techniques possible of the day as well as what they wanted to do.

You can keep the split rear window for my two cents worth.

Default Split Window

In the Mid to late 60's people would cut the back window to accomidate one piece of Glass & make thier 63 look like a 64 or newer !

No love lost there, but it certainly helped contribute to making the survivors all that much more rare.

Who knew?

I'm sure its only purpose is to support the lexan window and prevent it from possibly sagging.....
