Your expectations of their demise are a bit premature.

"Of course, Jalopnik said this week that Chrysler sales are up.... so who knows."
Anyway, glad your Chrysler products have been great. I hope Chrysler does well. I won't buy one, but it's good for the economy, and it's good for America.

The new snake will be a bad boy. Hope the C7 will be too (it better be).

I think it's interesting how they're dropping the 'Dodge' name as well.
GM has made a similar decision in the UK, where Corvettes are sold under the brand 'Corvette'. It'd be nice if they did it here, too.

Ralph Giles is a modern day Bob Lutz. If you read what SRT is doing, most of it is very good. I expect the Viper will be excellent, as it will be the SRT Halo car. Ford and Dodge/SRT are forcing GM to up their game. The Grand Cherokee SRT8 went toe to toe with a BMW X6M and more than held it's own.
The fact that you can get a top end Hemi across the Dodge line up is amazing. Im not a Dodge guy and not a Ford guy, but the competition is turning out some good product.

In my opinion, GM tends to wait and follow what others do. They do not seem to set the trend or go first. I think this goes back a way, especially vs. Ford.

Well...I go way back and thats not the way I remember it. Corvette in 1953 .... Thunderbird followed YEARS later and then changed. GM was the first with the most in the horsepower wars. Chrysler had the HEMI but in LOUSY platforms. GM had the 265/283/348/396/409/427 and the 454. One of the first with full time fuel injection. And, in my opinion the Corvette since it's introduction has been a world class sports car.
