New c4 info??
GM'er says we might know more about the motor on Oct 24th . If we hear DOHC then everything changes !
The new F12 has over 700 hp and does 0-60 in 3.1 sec but weighs 3800 lbs.
If the C7 ZR1 weighs under 3000lbs and has over 700hp Maybe it can do 2.9 sec.
Maybe he has something there.
To bad the will raise they price of the Base C7 though.
Well on a good note maybe the C6 price will come down and there will be allot of used ones from people trading up for C7.
Or I could get a FRS/BRZ .. lol

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I would not bother with this tete a tete now if GM'er had not agreed with you earlier.

There's no point. Anyone who buys a Corvette doesn't care that there's no back seats and knows this going into the purchase of the car. There haven't been back seats in a Vette and that didn't stop us from buying it before. More importantly, I don't WANT back seats. The whole point of my Vette is that I'm not schofouring people around. I'm not a taxi cab. I don't haul kids around. I don't need a placed to throw my back pack (since I don't have one).
I drive my Vette for fun. Back seats will kill that for me because I don't drive my car aggressively when I have passengers.
OK... So no to back seats. If GM decides that they'd put back seats in, which I know they won't anyway, then I won't be purchasing a C7. I will more likely buy a Jaguar F-type.

Having 2 extra seats would make a WORLD of difference for buyers like myself. I can't count the number of times where an extra seat would have come in handy. (Giving a friend a quick ride home, unexpectedly picking someone up etc.) I feel that it would greatly increase gm's market appeal as many of my friends have ruled the corvette out simply because it was a 2 seater and wasn't as practical as say a 911,m3 or even boss/shelby mustang etc.
A rear seat delete option would be great as well, as it would satisfy those individuals who want their corvettes to remain true, 2 seater performance cars.
As for performance, I think while it may not match up to the current c6 z06, it will certainly come close, not trailing far behind. I don't think it's the horsepower that's going to drastically increase the performance of the car, but rather the DCT transmission. I'm pretty sure the modern carerra with pdk transmission is just as quick as the outgoing 911 s, thanks to the rapid, no delay shifts. If corvette completely skipped on this type of transmission and only offered the true manual and regular auto, I think they'd be failing to get with the times.
There are several times I have wished I could seat one more person in my car, but very rarely have I ever wanted to seat two more people.

Again, to an average car enthusiast, the article is well written and believable.
