Maybe if they where to exit Merc. McLaren SLR style. Hard to run them all the way under the door exposed and not look clumsy/out of place on a modern car.
I like side exit exhaust. I want nothing to do with running an entire exhaust pipe down the side of my car.
I actually like what Supervettes did with the GT6X, if it ever does become anything beyond a rendering.
I think they look out of place on a newer style. There are all types of tastes around but I'm betting that the majority of people would think it was just plain dumb looking. Me for one. I loved that look on the older late 60's vettes in red especially. They were beautiful and still are!
That looks terrible and cheesy and that hood looks terrible as well.
Side pipes are a thing of the long past.
Full length sides and I would agree with you, just the opening coming out is something Im seeing more of on modded cars. And not so called ricers, but on stangs and such.
Anyone who says they dont like the rendition of sidepipes above on the blue Vette is
JMO
I think it sucks myself. I like the pipes just fine the way they are coming out the back with four tips. I already know I'm crazy. HeHe
This site needs to get the browse thing going as I can't figure out how this forum works for posting pics. Maybe I'm not just crazy...
Presuming that any of the posts here actually own and/or drive C6 Corvettes or would buy a C7, I would ask the question again of actual possible owners. As an owner of a C6 I haven't had the off-road experience some seem to have had so I've never damaged the rocker panels. However I have experienced a warm trunk area, leading me to wonder about "modern technology" as it relates to exhaust systems. I personally think that getting the pipes out of the downforce tunnels and out into the rockers would be a great idea, but not if the price was an overcomplicated and exasperating set of compromises. Since my Dad had a big-block '66 with side pipes I will remind you all that they were not "mufflers" by any definition - they were exhaust pipes. Big, big difference. On the other hand, if you had them, you could delete the radio...because you'd never be able to hear it. And I definitely would NOT want the "Lingenfelder" style pipes - I would want something that fits inside the existing rocker panel line, or forget it...
