C7 Weight
"Curb weight" includes all fluids, full.
For the C6, the curb weight listed by GM is for the base model without any options unless listed otherwise.
The best way to see what you car weighs is to look at the driver's door and see what the GVWR is. On the driver's door jam, the max load weight is listed.
Subtract the max load from the GVWR and you have the curb weight of your particular car.
My 09 Z06 with 2LZ, NAV and chromes has a GVWR of 3651 lbs and a max load of 423 lbs listed.
That means my car weighs 3228 lbs. GM lists the Curb weight for a base, no optioned 2009 Z06 as 3175 lbs.
GM knows what the weight of each and every component is that goes into our cars, so they can accurately give the weight without having to measure each individual car as it is built.
Most scales have a tolerance and even a +/1 1% tolerance can mean the weight measured on a 3228 lb car could range from 3260 lbs down to 3196 lbs.
Just measuring your car with a 1/2 tank of gas vs being full, would be a 56-57 lb error, vs the weight GM says your car weighs.

Have you noticed this Joe?
I mainly notice the acceleration drop in the summer when the ambient temps is in the mid 80's into the 90's.
120 pounds is equal to about 12 horsepower while accelerating, so I don't feel that, but I do feel it when the ECM drops 20 degrees of timing because of high IAT. That's a drop in horsepower I do feel.

Which means about 3150lbs empty tank. A number that also matches up very closely to the 3159lbs listed as shipping weight in the paperwork.
However much of that weight savings potential could be lost from more fuel economy & safety additives. Maybe all of it, if too much other gadgetry is made standard perhaps.
I mean who really buys a "performance" car for map screens & interior power everything? But because soNso has them, GM does also.

Oh well, guess I shouldn't care as long as it's optional.
