Ferrariectomy
That being said I am like many disappointed in much of what we have been “leaked” and as stated previously I hope the real thing knocks every ones socks off.
In many of the images there just seems to be a definite Ferrari look to the overall package. This has been discussed in many threads here that I have read. Ferraris are a great car and there is nothing wrong with that other than we hope for a distinctive look for the C7 that truly sets it apart as a Corvette.
I have prepared my firesuit and now present a Photoshopped version of one of the latest images released that corrects what I consider to be one of the least attractive features of this image; that being the “thick-waisted” heavy look overall. Also the whole gunslit window styling that gives us dark claustrophobic interiors has been tired since the Chrysler 300 and in my opinion just adds a little too much more to the Camaro resemblence, so I changed them.
I didn’t spend much time looking for a better quality image on the bottomto start with which would have been nice, but this will give some idea what I am talking about.
I know many will hate this, but until Jan 2013 we need to have something to look at.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I might be alone here, but I don't think it will look anything like this.Regardless of Jalopnik and all the others who think it will.I also think this rendering is ugly and plain Jane looking. If it ends up looking like this I will be buying more c6's in the future. If it has more curves and more of an exotic look then this, well,I may be a C7 player down the road.As of now,I like my c6 better.
Playing with pictures is fun, but we're not talking about the C7 anymore. That conversation is over. The car's physical characteristics are done, vendors have been lined up and product is about to begin. Chevrolet isn't going to restart aero testing, crash testing and tooling because someone decides the window line needs to be an inch lower. "Ever line matters" is one of the few official Chevrolet statements on the new car.
On that note. It's a Chevrolet. One of the points of having a halo car is to get people on the sales lot. There must be some design queues that make all of the vehicles on the lot part of the Chevrolet brand. It sounds like make people think it's a Chevrolet lot that also sells Corvettes, but don't forget it's part of a brand with a global identity. The Corvette will not become it's own brand, so suck it up and get used to some family resemblance or find a new car.
Whew, thanks. I feel better now.

Thankfully, based on the spy shots, it looks like at least the designers kept the front part of the beltline (windshield and first foot or so behind the A pillar) low enough to allow excellent forward and turning visibility. Too many of today's cars feel like you are driving in a pillbox looking out the gun-slit. I know current safety regs preclude it, but I love the feel and look of a low beltline and big greenhouse -- like that gorgeous XKE posted here.
Or the car I drove 20 years ago, which provided great sightlines (and VW Golf acceleration):

Best we can do today, I suppose, is drive a vert with the top down and raise the seat as high as possible...
