A car looking like that would NEVER pass any sort of federal standards...here or Europe...lol. IT's wicked lookin though. Too much front end beyond the front wheels imo, but it's wicked...
Every time I look at this rendering there is CTS-V coupe written ALL OVER that rear quarter panel...guarantee that's what cue the artist took. Cadillac was said to be involved, to some extent, with the Corvette development. I have to wonder if they didn't work with any Caddy designers.
Both of these renderings were revealed by Car and Driver right? They don't look like the same vehicle to me. I like the second one much better, has less of a "fat" rear. Discuss.
Second one looks to much like a GTR, personally prefer the 1st Ferrari looking one.
correct, and I see totally the opposite along with the professionals
Are you sure you guys are not getting these mixed up? The second one with the higher hood clearly resembles a GTR. I guess Im confused cause I don't see how anyone could not see that. And along with other posts I've read here and other sites I was pretty sure the "professionals" stated it that way as well.

Seems like some of the cars over there are coming out with those "chopped off noses" look. Some of the newer mercedes have that chopped off nose look.

professionals? Professionals??? What "professionals"? I just knew some of the frequent posters on here might be GM schills. Is someone on here admitting to being a car designer and or a current GM employee involved in the C7 design?
Anything else is amateur opinion, even ex GM employees involved in advertising brochures etc.. Hell, I'm a "professional" - a Professional Civil Engineer, licensed in the State of California. That doesn't mean I know schmidt about car design - but I do know what I do and don't like!

RC, I hope the C7 has way less quarter panel and more tire.... I hope the proportions are right .. That is a pet peeve of mine. That CTS Coupe would have fit my needs if it were not for that football field of a quarter panel !

I'm on the same page with you. The "fat" rear (which reminds me of the Cadillac coupe) makes the rear wheels look small. I'll keep my C6 if this is it, but I'd trade if the C7 looks like the second rendering.

A car that will sell 25000 / yr for 7-9 years in its run and will be seen often at a 7-11 or supermarket parking lot can never look crazy exotic like a Ferrari Enzo or Lambo Aventador which most people away from the largest cities have never seen except in pics. It would have a shelf life of a few months if you saw several a day, like the Corvette. Most guys who mod their Vettes or expensive cars where they look extreme like this keep em only for a yr at most for the same reason.
The first one is MUCH better in my opinion, especially the front clip. The 2nd one screems GTR and does not look exotic at all....
Recall hosebeat said the first one has a too low and too sloping downward Italian beak nose vs pics of the real car he worked with. I suspect the real deal has a slightly flatter hood and a top edge of front bumper mid way between the two renders , which will give the car a more muscular front ,imo.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
