You could show them a C7 from the rear, just cover up the front of a Camaro

Here's the deal, GM CEO Dan Akerson's '58 Vette is being auctioned off for charity at BJ. You can bet that Akerson will be there and the 1st production C7 VIN will be auctioned at the same time, probably also for charity.

This will be just like the first ZR1 that was auctioned off months before the car was actually produced. In LMB, I might add!

If you had to guess, do you think you'll have C7s in the showroom by July? Thanx.

Here's the deal Ox, the facts in your post were already long known by myself (I originally posted the deal about Akerson's '58) and anyone who has been following this. The conclusion, that the mystery Chevrolet to be auctioned 1-19-13 at approx. 8:30 pm is a C7, is still without confirmation. Considering Hendrick is a likely bidder, I asked the question.

Up until now I didn't believe that you guys actually had one, but now with this thinly veiled denial, I am positive you have at least one, probably several, C7's. And, further, maybe you don't have any "mailers" but now I believe you do have many photographs too.

......wait a second, maybe all this pressure has made me paranoid. Maybe they don't have them. Maybe the reveal on 1-13-13 is GM advising that they are discontinuing the Vette, .....

OK, sorry...too many threads to keep them all straight. I've known Akerson was auctioning his '58 for a month or two.

No problem. It is of particular interest to me since I live in Phoenix and would consider actually going to take my own pictures of it from the angles I choose. Otherwise, would not consider going as it is better on TV that in person in some regards.

I am aware of that lot and the speculation concerning same. Just seeking confirmation which one of the likely bidders cannot even confirm yet.

Some people can't tell modern computer rendered images from actual photos. The quality can be pretty convincing.

Cheers,

Given Rick Hendrick's long relationship with GM and the zillions of dealerships he has, I full suspect he actually has seen the C7 in the flesh (along with some of the other big name mega-dealers). But I'm equally certain that he and the others are all under strict non-disclosure and would doubt seriously they would show a picture even if they had one.
