The thing we all noticed watching it was the audience didn't seem too vocally excited about it. It seemed like they were underwhelmed when it rolled on stage.
I noticed that as well. I expected some yelling/whistling/cheering when it was actually unveiled but in fact it was rather subdued. My wife watched it with me-knowing I aready have a deposit on one-and asked me what I thought. I honestly couldn't say I was all that enthused about it, and she sensed that. Not what was usually expected of me when Corvettes are involved...
the guitar player that popped up is the one reason I will never own this car. that was such a LAME way to introduce this car...Who the **** was that guy?

Now you see first hand what auto company executives are all about...makes you wonder how they got to those high paying jobs...not a gearhead in the trio. Really lame persona, as exciting as a funeral for a zombie. I am so glad I am outta there and enjoying life...what a burden it was to work for jackwipes like this.

and he sucked at it too...I am a guitar player myself, and I heard so many mistakes in that awful nonsense I could want to burn a guitar or two. another example of poor event planning rivaling the morons on Trump's Celebrity Apprentice.

Maybe the guy thought that was a guitar on the front fender and thought he would jam with the rest.

Agreed it was pretty poor. The Mrs was a champ and watched with me too. I've known it was the Jalopnik car since the test mules, but told her nothing. We both wondered why a guy was standing next to a covered car, seemingly stealing the show, both noticed the crowds handful of claps, and neither of us were excited. She flat out called it ugly. In fact, when I asked her what the back end looked like(expecting camaro obviously) she said, and I quote, "an angry pig, that's running away because it's so angry somebody made something that ugly" lol.
And no actual hp specs? Huge flop. They gave everything but the most important bits(actual curb weight, mpg, hp/tq) on one of the most important releases in modern times. They really didn't think sae certification or AT LEAST a realistic hp number was a good idea to have? And weight... the car is all but production ready, they know how much the freakin thing weighs.
Hell, they should have brought in ZZTOP and let them Rock. Then roll the car in with the engine roar. Then used spotlights to focus on the areas of the car as they extolled the features. Let some gear heads in that would cheer, hoot and applaud. Raise the hood as they talked about the LT1. Take a boom camera and show the image on a 60 ft screen. Same with the interior and so on. Then open the curtain and announce to the crowd --Now go see for yourself!!!
