I love the way the dealers are all making MSRP sound like a great deal.
Why is everyone who is ordering a C7 accepting this without negotiating?
Where is the rule that says just because this is a new model the dealer has complete control of price?
..and "thats the way it has always been with the Corvette's" is not an answer.
The dealers are all praying that everyone follows past behavior like a bunch of robots.
If EVERYONE tried to negotiate a better price and held off ordering unless they got a good discount, then the dealers would evenatually have no chocie but to start negotiating and lowering price.
Yes, I know it's all about supply and demand, but it is the buyer that can control demand and that dictates price. I'm not buying a C7 until the price drops to invoice, and if I have to wait a year or so, like I did with my C6, then so be it.
The people paying MSRP now will be the same people complaining about the bath they took when they try to sell their C7 in 2 years and find out how much it depreciated compared to the MSRP price they paid.

You're making a very good point. If I was younger, and money management was more important to me, I'd definitely follow your advice. But understand this: Some of us don't care if we're the
richest guy in the graveyard!

As stated supply and demand. Out here in CA when the C5 Came out dealers were getting, with no questions asked, anywhere from $10K - $25K premium over and above MSRP.
They pulled the same thing with the C6 when it came out. Every dealer I talked to told me it was MSRP or better because they simply had more people than cars available and they were willing to pay to be one of the first. I eventually went with broker and was excited to pay MSRP.
Too each their own, if they want to line someone else's pockets let them. If you can/will wait then fine. No reason to bash them, after all it is their money and their car.
Having said that ordering might be a bit premature, as it is just a deposit for now. But still excited for you guys. Really cant wait to see these on the roads.

Money can buy a lot of things but it can't buy your youth. Bill is not asking anyone to pay his bills or buy his car. More power to Bill if he can afford it and wants to enjoy his new C7 asap!
Alright guys, I have been very vocal about this car and I have my reasons. Enough has been said, and it is not fair of me to rain on your parade (those of you excited about the car). Besides, the car is 90% awesome for me as well. The aftermarket will probably get me the rest of the way. So, enjoy your cars and your ordering, whatever form that takes. What matters is that it makes you happy. And we're all Corvette guys at the end of the day, so
I read through the forum and found a post from Mike at Criswell chevrolet in Gaithersburg MD. This company and this man support the Corvette Forum..
They are very large Corvette dealer. The nice thing is if you change your mind before the actual order they refund 100%. I look forward to having my car the first month they are delivered.the most important thing is they sell at MSRP.
Congrats Bill
I have also pre-ordered from Mike@Criswell.
You sir are a gentleman. I am at an age where Chevrolet does not care if I buy. I am also at an age that money is not the problem, time is...
I feel sorry for you. I think it will better for your if you order comaro to save your time and money cause it look almost same. no major difference and they have the same end l ooooo l.
Thank you for the well wishes. The car I am ordering will have the new interior. If you see the sales brochure you can see the exact car.
I understand the dealer practice of add on pricing. I am not paying any add ons. I also want a museum delivery I am excited about that. I get nothing for recommending Crisswell .o support people who support the Forum. Mike is getting me all the information as he receives it from Chevrolet, I am 19th on the list. They are the third largest Corvette seller in the US so they have a huge allotment.
As for the negative responses. I had a friend, years ago, who after being called an old fart replied"and if you are lucky you will be one too"
I retired from motorsports. That is I got paid to go the races. I was director of motorsports for Kendall Oil and I was head of sales & marketing for Sunoco Race Fuel. I have zero regrets and great memories.. Let me know on this thread if you want the phone of the dealer. He will send you the color chart and the sales brochure.
Yesterday, I went by my local Chevy dealer that I bought my ZR1 from and he said they had deposits already on fourteen and I would be fifteen if I gave him a check right then. He is selling at MSRP with no dealer ad ons and would call me when to come in and go through the option and order sheet when final pricing comes through, which he said they are expecting in the next 45 days. I know it'll be a first year model with probably some issues and I would be paying MSRP, but in the ER I see that life is short and you have to enjoy everyday. Driving a Corvette gives me great pleasure and joy. I want to keep my current Corvette, so that would give me time this spring and summer to ad on to the garage. hmmmmm
