Default So....Jalopnik

So I guess all the doubters have come to terms with the fact that when Jalopnik posted the C7 over a year ago they actually posted the real deal

After so much fussing over their pictures and so many months of talking about it and denying it I was surprised not to see a thread about it!

Personally I always felt that they had seen the real car and what they were giving us was an accurate depiction of what we could expect from the C7.

I say "Good work" to Jalopnik for bringing us the C7 so much sooner than anyone else (November of 2011!!!...my god how quickly time passes).

Just for reference, this is what Jalopnik brought to us over a year ago...

Not to be a pain in the butt....I feel the jalopnik sketch really a left a lot of the actual vehicles presence out of the sketch.

I never cared for the sketch yet I knew the c7 would be dramatic and attractive in real life.

Car and driver sketches were closer to properly representing the c7 as it would appear.

JMO and I've never been that impressed with jalopnik overall so there is some bias. I prefer autoBlog as an Internet news source

Jalopnik deserves credit as they broke this way before anyone else.

They nailed it!

Jalapnik gets the credit for sure. I just don't think their sketches did justice to the real car as car and drivers did.

Yeah they (or whoever got them access) deserve credit. They did a drawing that showed, in very detailed ways, what we are seeing now. Did they spend a lot of time doing an exact computer model with lighting, surface textures, etc? No. But they did what they could and I think it is very clear that they KNEW they had the real deal.

Did car and driver deliver the information over a year ago?

The renderings were very accurate. GM must not have been too happy.

Of course any rendering leaves a lot on the table because it's the minor details that really make the car and I do feel the production C7, from what I've seen, is much better.

Are you kidding me? Jalopnik basically nailed the C7 a year before it was released and you are nitpicking that some details were left out.

when their drawings came out i figured they would be about 85% correct but man they were really close. maybe their drawings are the next z06 or zr1 or whatever since theirs has rear brake ducts and a front splitter

Hard to say, but I'd think/hope the Z06 has more distinguishing features than just a splitter and ducts.

I have to agree with you. But, because they had the design 95% spot on, it still doesn't make the rear end of the actual car any better looking (to me).

Didn't like the rear end in the renderings and I don't like the rear end in the videos of the actual car.

The badge on the Jalop render is a ZR1. Seems to a be a good glimpse at the future. The hood is awful though.

Worse than the hood on the current ZR1?
